Dosing Cup with Built-in Scale IKAPE
A stainless steel dosing cup with an integrated weight display and a rechargeable battery.
Calibrated espresso tamper
Calibrated Spring Espresso Tamper IKAPE V6 Impact
Uneven tamping lets water find an easier path through one side of the puck, so extraction stays inconsistent no matter how carefully you set the grind and the dose. A calibrated tamper fixes that force with a spring instead of leaving it to the feel of your hand, which removes one variable from the set of things that change between one cup and the next.
Before you buy
Requires a machine with a portafilter, and a base diameter matching your basket size.

Strengths and caveats
Strengths
- Reduces the variation in tamping from one shot to the next.
- A steel build that stands up to daily use.
- Fits more than one basket size.
Caveats
- We have not tested this unit. The assessment rests on mechanism and stated specifications, not on hands-on use.
- Measure your portafilter basket before ordering. The wrong diameter cannot be used at all, and there is no working around it.
- It does not compensate for an uneven grind — tamping is the last step, not the first.
Good for / Not for
Used for
- Holding tamping pressure steady from shot to shot
- Removing a variable while dialling in the grind
Good for
- People pulling espresso at home who want a more repeatable result.
- Households where the machine is shared, so hand pressure differs from person to person.
- Anyone who has settled grind and dose and still sees unexplained variation.
Not for
- Anyone without an espresso machine that uses a portafilter.
- Anyone who does not know their basket diameter and cannot measure it.
- People looking for a fix to a grinding problem rather than a tamping one.
When to skip it
Skip it if you only brew filter coffee, or your machine uses a pressurised basket.
The verdict
A narrow tool that does its narrow job: it fixes one variable in the espresso equation. Worth considering once grind and dose are settled and the variation remains. Before anything else, know your basket diameter.
